How to find the Transporter Bridge
From either Junction 24 or Junction 28 of the M4 take the A48. This is the new dual carriageway Southern Distributor Road which runs right past the Bridge.Then follow the brown tourist signs.
Parking is normally easy in Stephenson Street on the East side of the river or there is a car park just off the A48 (follow the signs). Disabled parking is available adjacent to the Bridge and Visitor Centre, which has a disabled-friendly toilet. Parking is free at all these locations.

The nearest bus service is Newport Transport No 40/41 from the City Centre.
Activities and Prices
A £3 (£2 for children aged 16 or under) day ticket gives access to the high level walkway, the motor house platform and unlimited crossings on the gondola. A single crossing is £1 (child 50p) and a return crossing £1.50 (child £1).
The Visitor Centre is normally open when the Bridge is operating and offers lots of information about the Bridge as well as postcards and souvenirs.
Just across the road is Fanny's Rest Stop, an
award-winning cafe offering drinks, snacks and meals.
